Anti Style

Rene Magritte

This is not a personal style blog, so, even you do find pictures of me here and there ( yes, I overdid myself yesterday), I cannot take pictures of myself every day.
Today I am going to write about Twitter.
Did you ever think "I could have invented Twitter?" Because it is such a basic concept... well, I did and it was funny to see this picture on Tim Ferriss' blog ( no, he is not a fashionista) about the beginning of Twitter.
What I learnt from it. That an idea can take you so far, but you need to have the means, will and determination to translate that idea into the real life. Otherwise, it will only be an idea, together with hundreds of other ideas that never get made.

Fashion first. Who cares about grammar?

Before you think of joining facebook and twitter, or, even worse, starting a fashion line, I would advise a few grammar lessons.
I am happy to teach you the difference between "this" and "these" or between "your" and "you're". They are normally taught in the 3rd grade.

                  The Grammar Lesson

Steve Kowit

A noun's a thing. A verb's the thing it does.
An adjective is what describes the noun.
In "The can of beets is filled with purple fuzz"

of and with are prepositions. The's
an article, a
can's a noun,
a noun's a thing. A verb's the thing it does.

A can can roll - or not. What isn't was
or might be,
might meaning not yet known.
"Our can of beets
is filled with purple fuzz"

is present tense. While words like our and us
are pronouns - i.e.
it is moldy, they are icky brown.
A noun's a thing; a verb's the thing it does.

Is is a helping verb.
It helps because filled isn't a full verb. Can's what our owns
in "Our can of beets is filled with purple fuzz."

See? There's almost nothing to it. Just
memorize these rules...or write them down!
A noun's a thing, a verb's the thing it does.
The can of beets is filled with purple fuzz.
