Dior In, Galliano Out
The Dior show went on as part of Paris Fashion Week, without the designer John Galliano.
The show started with a speech from chief executive Sidney Toledano."It has been deeply painful to see the Dior name associated with the disgraceful statements attributed to its designer, however brilliant he may be. What happened last week has been a terrible and wrenching ordeal for us all. So now, more than ever, we must publicly re-commit to the values of the House of Dior."

Instead of John Galliano, the Dior atelier stuff came out, in their white lab coats.
They received a standing ovation.
A little history. Dior is owned by LVMH, which is owned by Bernard Arnault. He is the guy that paid John Galliano his (huge) salary. Dior has a market value of 16 billion euros and over 61 thousands employees. Couture part is responsible only for about 4% of the market value ( really, who buys Haute Couture these days?). Millions of people are buying the Dior perfumes and cosmetics, and the company had to do the right decision in order to keep its customers. And they were pretty quick about it, that's why it seems they are not going to be affected much by the Galliano incident.(his anti-semitic remarks in a Paris cafe, if you haven't read about it). Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz, Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, Haider Ackermann and Hedi Slimane are all possible replacements. .On the other hand, it doesn't look that the Galliano brand is going to survive this one. His own show with his eponymous brand is cancelled, he is in rehab and possibly heading to jail. Pretty sad and well deserved, for a celebrity designer that had everything.
Kate Moss, do you still want to get married in his dress?
