Happy Monday!

Happy Monday!
Here is me looking for inspiration.

Extensions... and not at UCLA.

Remember when I used to have extensions?

That wasn't such a great idea.

Wearing a Versace dress and somebody else's hair.

Extensions are so passee, so Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

If that's your ideal, go get some.

Current/Elliot jeans.

Remember when I bragged about being a size 24 in jeans? Forget that. This Current Elliot sample managed to prove me wrong and show me that I am actually a 27.

Welcome to the world of real sizes.

I guess the Bell Jeans are back, if Current Elliot is making them again. They are a Los Angeles based jeans line and they really know what they are doing. They are soft, light and the fit is amazing. They actually make you look skinnier than you really are, if you happen to have this goal in life.

You need to wear them with wedges or high heels. (If you are 6”, you don’t).

Put on a simple white t-shirt and some golden jewelry and you are going to blend in and be like the rest of us.

Coral Story

Welcome to my wardrobe Miss Coral Coralina. She is a linen resort dress, made by the Los Angeles based company Splendid.

Miss Coral Coralina is very happy with her new home. I might even send her in a business trip to Tahiti, with my girlfriend. She could get photographed there also. Some dresses have the best life… until they are abandoned and forgotten. You are a novelty, and then a new dress comes in your wardrobe and Miss Coral Coralina is history.

I guess you have to enjoy it while it lasts, and make the best out of it. So Miss Coral Coralina, the clock is ticking, but you are the flavor of the moment.

Speaking of waiting lists( as you know, well informed reader, I am on the waiting list at the Malibu Missoni store for Havaianas)...
I can also be on a waiting list to have this Chanel ring for only $88 a month. I mean, to borrow it. It would go well with my dress. But, why in the world would I want to borrow a ring from a website? Let along place myself on a waiting list first. Seriously? Can the person that is currently borrowing this ring please contact me and explain to me the reasons behind her/his decision?
Thank you.

Dylan George Jeans against Cupcakes

To fit into a pair of 24 jeans is a dream come true. It means a lot of things: that the daily power walks when you would rather be sleeping are actually working, that drinking more than two liters of water a day actually gives results.

Also, that restricting yourself to one Crumbs Red Velvet Cupcake a week is actually a good idea

Ok, this pair is a sample so it might be something wrong with the sizing, but it’s ok. It might be my first and last pair of 24s, ever, but thanks Dylan George ( amazing Los Angeles jeans) for messing up your samples and making my day a little bit better.

Maison de Diana

Here is a first sample for you to see what I’ve been up lately, fashion wise.

This is an asymmetric top that has black pearls along the neckline. Well, not this specific sample, this one has beads for some unknown reason… but the final sample is going to have pearls.

The fabric is really soft, as in James Perse kind of soft. Or at least this is what I’ve been going for. It’s a combination of silk, cashmere and cotton, I think 70% silk, I need to look at my specs to remember the exact info and I am too comfortable writing this to look for them.

So, there it is. More samples to come that I am going to show on this blog first.

Zombies in the Valley

Ok, I just escaped this Zombie... I don't seem scared, but I am.
Los Angeles is being under attack, zombies everywhere.
Take care, if they bite you you might turn into a zombie yourself...
And then what?

Time.

This t-shirt used to say "It's all about me."
It was my favorite t-shirt.
I wonder what would my t-shirt say now.

Gwyneth Paltrow

This coat is so Gwyneth Paltrow.
The hair is so Gwyneth Paltrow too.

This is Gwyneth Paltrow in The Royal Tenenbaums. Movie that I hated and that I now love.
This is her blog, where you go and follow her diets and not only.

I'm wearing two coats from the new Dolce Cabo collection. More to come.
Or is Gwyneth Paltrow wearing the same coat? I am confused. It is undetermined who is who and who wears what.
Ok, who is this person and why is she jumping in my post? Really. This post is about me and Gwyneth and, whoever you are, please go away.
Image from The Sartorialist , of course. Please go back to your blog and do not interfere with my story.

Old Navy Casting or Run, Baby, Run.

Old Navy Casting.
Wearing Alexander McQueen dress, Alexander McQueen scarf, and Salvadore Ferragamo sandals.
The socks are wool, and optional.

Role Description: Lead female performer 20's--very indie rock with upbeat flair and driving summer beats. We will have a male and female singing a duet; the vibe is light, upbeat and summery. Talent will be lip synching during auditions.

Wardrobe: hip and summer cool. Shorts, rompers, and summer dresses.

It's an amazing day in Hollywood. What else is there to do other than go to this casting? You can always get the big commercial to pay the bills for a year (or forever). For a day of work. Wouldn't that be nice?

Casting Director
Slate you name, height and profile.
Me
Ok. Diana, 5 feet 7 1/2 inches.
CD
You will be paired with a guy and you will be the singing and dancing couple. Think Glee. Think Broadway.
Me ( thinking to myself)
I want to leave. I want to leave now.
CD
This is your partner. Go rehearse outside.
Me ( thinking to myself)
I want to leave. I want to leave. I don't sing and dance. Why I am here? This is Old Navy. I don't even wear Old Navy. Old Navy is so unfashionable; I am wearing Alexander McQueen. Why am I wearing McQueen again? Do I own anything Old Navy? Poor Alexander, he shouldn't have killed himself.
Guy
I am your partner. Let's rehearse.
Me
Ok.

We go outside on Sunset Boulevard. He had the song on his iPhone. He knows the lyrics. This is weird. The song is called "Barbecutie". I wonder how much time the ad agency put into this one. I forgot the lyrics, but it's about rompers and dresses and style and shorts.
I should leave. No, I will stay and embarrass myself and then blog about it.  How hard can it be? You have to lip synch, right? I can't even tell when people are lip synching. They can say whatever, right?

Now, we're inside the room. The music starts. I lip synch. I don't know the lyrics. It's odd. The chair is spinning. The guy spins my chair. We sit up. We continue the lip synch. I think I lip synch his part too. This is weird. We are happy. It is Glee; it's Broadway.

And Cut.

The next singing couple is entering.
We leave, oddly dressed, to our cars.

In rivers, the water that you touch is the last of what has passed and the first of that which comes; so with present time.

I was looking through my old pictures and found this one, signed by Francis Ford Coppola.
It says Multumesc.~Thank you.
It's one of my favorite pictures and I am really happy I found it. It reminds me of a different period in my life... Also, it reminds me how quickly time passes... That's why I posted this title, it's a Leonardo quote... ( Da Vinci, I am not quoting Leonardo Di Caprio on this blog)... Because time is limited, even when we feel we have plenty of it. We don't.
So, why kill something that we are going to run out of someday, something that money cannot buy?
"You cannot kill time without injuring eternity" Henry David Thoreau
It's funny the thoughts a simple picture brings.

Google Interview

I am auditioning for a Google Project Manager job. I mean interviewing.

How many balls can fit in a school bus?

You are given 2 eggs. You have access to a 100-story building. Eggs can be very hard or very fragile means it may break if dropped from the first floor or may not even break if dropped from 100th floor. Both eggs are identical. You need to figure out the highest floor of a 100-story building an egg can be dropped without breaking. The question is how many drops you need to make. You are allowed to break 2 eggs in the process.

Describe a technical problem you had and how you solved it.

There's a latency problem in South Africa. Diagnose it.
Every man in a village of 100 married couples has cheated on his wife. Every wife in the village instantly knows when a man other than her husband has cheated, but does not know when her own husband has. The village has a law that does not allow for adultery. Any wife who can prove that her husband is unfaithful must kill him that very day. The women of the village would never disobey this law. One day, the queen of the village visits and announces that at least one husband has been unfaithful. What happens?

Imagine you have a closet full of shirts. It’s very hard to find a shirt. So what can you do to organize your shirts for easy retrieval?

Explain a database in three sentences to your eight-year-old nephew.

How much should you charge to wash all the windows in Seattle?

How would you boost the GMail subscription base?

Seriously, Google?

If you are not too long, I will wait here for you all my life.

Beautiful colors, yes?
Good job, T-Bags, for deciding to do simple cotton t-shirts with sequins after I decided to do that last year. Beautiful top, by the way. Well, that's ok, Valentino got my t-shirts tulle idea that I wanted to do two years ago. I am not saying anyone stole anything from me... is just that inspiration comes and goes and visits other people too. And, if you don't do something when you are supposed to, those other people might just do it. And you... well, your time will come too.

Sushi

Should I or shouldn't I
go to sleep?
Please observe the beautiful necklace that I am wearing.
The dress is Vivienne Westwood.
The necklace was on some Sports Illustrated cover...I mean, there are so many chains, you can go to Ralphs and buy sushi just wearing that and you'll be fine. That's what I wore today.
